Returning to balance in an unbalanced world

I realize that the more I keep looking around me to see what others are doing the more confused I get. I learned to look outwards for approval, validation and permission. At what point in life do I come to open up to my internal guidance system. Yes, I believe we all have one. We keep ourselves far too busy to hear or feel it or at least I know that is true for me.

The world is very speeded up. There is so much to do or at least that is what everyone seems to think.

I learned this neat trick. Go to a calm relaxing place. Surround yourself with beauty and inspiration. This can be a place in nature or ideally you can create this place in your home. I find that this outward calming effect helps me to get still. When I am there, I relax, take a breath and close my eyes and breath. I start to tune into my bodily sensations and the sounds. I truly relax into the present moment. Being still is very calming. If you find yourself saying but, I don’t have time to do this. Then, very likely, you really need to try this. -smile-

Another way, that I get back to the present is listening to live music. I am going to pause my writing and go listen to some now. Will be back soon. Spent some time dancing to the music as well. I find that physical movement, breathing, and creativity are great ways to come back into balance. ~Flow~
